Hello, I had the same problem described in this bug, and I was expecting nm status to be cleared after reboot. Even if it doesn't completely solve the issue, the script in init.d should wake network-manager when [re]start. The issue is made worst by knetworkmanager which doesn't allow to wake network-manager.
