Package: mc Version: 3:4.7.0.5-1 Severity: normal Hi,
when setting up the latest mc package I noticed the following error message: Setting up mc (3:4.7.0.5-1) ... <snip> /var/lib/dpkg/info/mc.postinst: line 4: dpkg-architecture: command not found r...@sidamd64:~# Indeed the postin script calls dpkg-architecture from dpkg-dev, which is not installed on that box. Interestingly the script does not fail, but reports the package to be fully set up -> Severity normal. I guess simply putting dpkg-dev to the depends is not the best solution. Plase use another method to determine the arch or check if dpkg-architecture is available before calling it.
