Hi, if you use ldap as data base for kdc, kdc does not start on boot because its data base backend is not available yet: http://lists.debian.org/debian-edu/2010/05/msg00098.html If, for some reason, it is not desired to change the boot ordering for kdc in general, there should be a correct ordering as soon as you install krb5-kdc-ldap.
