My recent trouble with ocrodjvu seems to be an ocropus bug (#582266). While it would be great if that was fixed, I think it makes sense to get the new ocropus version into Debian first. According to the Release Notes athttp://code.google.com/p/ocropus/wiki/ReleaseNotes quite a lot has been changed.

As far as I understand, the update to ocropus was held backbecause it needs a recent iulib. That is now in experimental (and no bugs are reported),
Presumably because nobody is using it. :)
so I think the update can go ahead.
To package all components of new Ocropus, at least OpenFst and pyopenfst needs to be packaged.
