It's on my TODO list to upgrade both, but work is keeping me pretty busy
right now. Did you try building from tag
libsynthesis_3.4.0.6+syncevolution-1-0-beta-3
In the moblin repos?
Since syncevolution is the only package using libsynthesis in Debian, I
plan to continue following the moblin repos for now.
