Package: smartmontools Version: 5.39.1+svn3077-1 Severity: wishlist
Hi. This is really a very minor wishlisht bug only. I'm currently looking through some of Debians init-scripts, as some of them are really too chatty and nearly output documentation. For /etc/init.d/smartmontools one could think whether this also applies for the following: log_warning_msg "Not starting S.M.A.R.T. daemon smartd, disabled via /etc/default/smartmontools" It might be enough to simply say something like log_warning_msg "Not starting S.M.A.R.T. daemon: disabled" I guess anybody who want's to have it enabled will be able to find out how this is done. But as said,.. this is rather perfectionism than really a problem. Cheers, Chris. -- Package-specific info: Output of /usr/share/bug/smartmontools: CONFIG_IDE_TASK_IOCTL=y -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.33-heisenberg (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages smartmontools depends on: ii debianutils 3.2.3 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.10.2-9 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcap-ng0 0.6.3-1 An alternate posix capabilities li ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-2 GCC support library ii libselinux1 2.0.94-1 SELinux runtime shared libraries ii libstdc++6 4.4.4-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii lsb-base 3.2-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip Versions of packages smartmontools recommends: ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20100314cvs-1 simple mail user agent Versions of packages smartmontools suggests: pn gsmartcontrol <none> (no description available) pn smart-notifier <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
