Since I'm running fvwm, without a GNOME panel, running just
jbr:~$ fuss-launcher -window
has no visible effect. I look up the man page and discover that it
only knows about one option:
jbr:~$ man fuss-launcher | grep -B1 win

fuss-launcher [-window]]

OPTIONS
-window Run in a window instead of an applet.
Oh good, I think, that explains why its dependencies didn't say
anything about needing a particular desktop environment. But:
jbr:~$ fuss-launcher -window
fuss-launcher: error: no such option: -w
Usage: fuss-launcher [options]

Options:
--version show program's version number and exit
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-q, --quiet quiet mode: only output fatal errors
-v, --verbose verbose mode
-d, --debug debug mode
I should also like to point out that
