The fact that there's no package in the archive that uses it doesn't mean it doesn't have any users. Assuming there are users of this package, I think it should stay until it doesn't work anymore. I'll add a note in it's description telling the users that it's deprecated and shouldn't be used in new packages, and that they should use GIO. Is it good enough for you? Greetings.
