severity 539919 minor thanks Thanks to another user (under Ubuntu), the problem is almost solved: where "fixed" was working with Emacs 22, "6x13" should now be used instead (I wonder why I didn't guess that before, because I already had to do such a change for rxvt a long time ago).
So, something like: emacs23*font: 6x13 Emacs*font: 6x13 in the X resources should work. Note: I had to use the X resources instead of a configuration in the .emacs file, otherwise the Emacs window first appears with an incorrect size (actually the size for the default font) and is then resized once the .emacs is read. IMHO, "fixed" should match the traditional 6x13 font. If this cannot be done, this should at least be documented, e.g. in Section "Fonts" of the manual *and* in the man page (under the -fn option, which should also reference Section "Fonts" of the manual, as it is more complete). BTW, the man page is already out-of-date concerning the fonts, see bug 549485. -- Vincent Lefèvre <[email protected]> - Web: <http://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <http://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / Arénaire project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
