As explained in bug 321052 (among others), Adeodato Simo's NMU will cause problems with library transitions in the mpich package. The gist is: upstream has made API changes without a version bump, and I'm using gfortran to generate F90 symbols, and the C++ ABI has changed. I'd like to wrap all of these in a single library package name change (adding c2) but this NMU will force me to change the library package name again to upload the new upstream with F90 support, which I would rather not do. I should have new packages available tomorrow, and will name them according to your actions and reply to this email.
