Package: lxde-common Version: 0.5.0-4 Severity: important upon upgrading lxde-common, it reset the x-session-manager alternative to gnome-session, even though i had manually set startlxde as the alternative.
this makes it rather difficult to keep lxde as the default session manager. :( ~# update-alternatives --config x-session-manager There are 5 choices for the alternative x-session-manager (providing /usr/bin/x- session-manager). Selection Path Priority Status ------------------------------------------------------------ 0 /usr/bin/gnome-session 50 auto mode 1 /usr/bin/gnome-session 50 manual mode 2 /usr/bin/icewm-session 10 manual mode 3 /usr/bin/lxsession 49 manual mode 4 /usr/bin/openbox-session 40 manual mode * 5 /usr/bin/startlxde 50 manual mode Press enter to keep the current choice[*], or type selection number: ~# dpkg-reconfigure lxde-common update-alternatives: removing manually selected alternative - switching x-sessio n-manager to auto mode update-alternatives: using /usr/bin/gnome-session to provide /usr/bin/x-session- manager (x-session-manager) in auto mode. ~# i was thinking this was a bug in update-alternatives, but when setting x-session-manager to something other than startlxde or lxsession, nothing changes; it works as expected. looking at the postinst for all the various things providing x-session-manager, i'm at a loss as to figure out what's different with lxde-common/lxsession. hrm. live well, vagrant -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
