I often run

xplanet -body earth -origin sun -wait 240 &

to provide a nice background image on my main display. I do this
from an xterm window after I've logged in.

I've noticed that around the time of a solar or lunar eclipse (such as
this afternoon and two weeks ago), I get a few lines of error message
every time it updates. This leaves behind this in my terminal window:

   Warning: Can't find moon.jpg in
   xplanet/images
   /home/shep/.xplanet/images
   /usr/share/xplanet/images
Warning: Can't find map file moon.jpg
Warning: Can't load map file moon.jpg
   Warning: Can't find moon.jpg in
   xplanet/images
   /home/shep/.xplanet/images
   /usr/share/xplanet/images
Warning: Can't find map file moon.jpg
Warning: Can't load map file moon.jpg
   Warning: Can't find moon.jpg in
   xplanet/images
   /home/shep/.xplanet/images
   /usr/share/xplanet/images
Warning: Can't find map file moon.jpg
Warning: Can't load map file moon.jpg
   Warning: Can't find moon.jpg in
   xplanet/images
   /home/shep/.xplanet/images
   /usr/share/xplanet/images
Warning: Can't find map file moon.jpg
Warning: Can't load map file moon.jpg
   Warning: Can't find moon.jpg in

etc..

It is rather cool how xplanet is showing me where the moon is during
the eclipse event. IMHO the moon.jpg should be included in the
package. That would make what it shows much more understandable
(instead of leaving the user wondering why a grey shaded sphere is on
the desktop background during an eclipse like this).

(Seems like Easter Island would be the place to be today. Was anyone
reading this bug report there for the eclipse?)
