Package: libsvn-perl
Version: 1.6.12dfsg-1

Hi,

please follow the convention concerning $VERSION assignment [1], ie. the
complete computation of $VERSION must take place on the one first line
within the module that assigns to it (the link documents how to check
this).

The current practice makes it impossible for (at least) Module::Build to
check dependencies on SVN::Core (when a recent version of version.pm is
installed), resulting in kgb-bot to FTBFS with perl 5.12 [2]. Other
packages such as libsvn-web-perl work around the problem by implementing
their own checks for SVN::Core instead of relying on Module::Build.

Regards,
Ansgar
