Hi,
I finally got tired of dealing with this on courier and am moving a few
hundred accounts to dovecot. 120 accounts in so far and no sign of such
a problem, and it needs neither FAM nor Gamin.
With courier this started years ago with less than 60 accounts. I had to
run a script in the background to monitor the logfiles and restart
courier when these messages started ramping up. Of course this would
cause problems for people in the midst of doing something on their mail
client.
