Comments/Problems:

Note: 1) only tried one set of floppies. (I can make another set if
warranted.)
        2) After trying the 13 Aug 2005 floppies, I successfully loaded the
machine
using the stock sarge floppy images. There were hiccups, but
the
WAY forward was never completely blocked as it was with the
                13 aug 2005 images.

13 Aug 2005 images:
Put in boot, root, picked: eng; us; said no to drivers; am-eng
                keyboard
built-in e100 NIC was not detected (didn't work with stable sarge
images either).
(I did not grok "boot install24")
Then it "finds" a FireWire interface. said no to that
the net-drivers image errors on "Loading ipv6-modules-2.4.27-2-386-di
failed for
                unknown reasons"
going back causes a bad screen flicker (black screen with white
cursor-block in
lower left). That is the end of the experiment.
