Whether stdin is a TTY or not, I can't say. I would be surprised if it was not in the case of baz or dpkg-buildpackage. If $GPG_AGENT_INFO is not set, gpg will say: gpg: gpg-agent is not available in this session Enter passphrase: $DISPLAY is definitely set as I am working in an xterm. I tried to configure debuild to not clean the environment, but without effect. If I patch debsign to run env(1) just before debsign, it shows that both, $GPG_AGENT_INFO and $DISPLAY are properly set. > Which pinentry program are you using?
