This was exactly what I needed. I switched to using the
newer / better? libnss-ldapd, libpam-ldapd, and nslcd. Now
schroot works fine.
I'm not certain that it will work for everyone. But
Arthur de Jong's forked implementation of the original PADL
nss_ldap package seems much cleaner and simpler. And since he's
apparently maintaining the Debian packages himself, it's a very
smooth install and most all of the necessary options seem to be
debconf driven. Very slick!
