The patches from Kurt and me do basically the same, btw. We disabled the libresolv detection and replaced it by what we think is working on Debian systems. So, of course, the situation for Rogier is complicated as he wants mtr to be buildable on many OSs but for you it's simpler :-) In doubt, just upload a version to experimental and see if it builds.
