Hi, I tried running C-Kermit from the unstripped wermit to better identify the problem I experienced in my but report at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=591605

C-Kermit was built from source at ftp://ftp.columbia.edu/kermit/test/tar/x32.gz using:

Target: linux+openssl+zlib+shadow+pam
GCC version: 4.4.3

on Debian GNU/Linux on i386.

I am currently rebuilding C-Kermit using the current GCC in Debian Unstable gcc-4.4 (Debian 4.4.4-8) 4.4.5 20100728 (prerelease) and will try the resultant wermit binary as well.

If you have any further suggestions for pin-pointing the problem, I would be happy to try them.

Arthur.
