The way I see it, there are two possible solutions:
a) Completely remove LIDS support by commenting out -DLIDS in the Makefile
b) Comment the (2) perrors() in lcap.c, therefore eliminating the
warnings in non-LIDS systems.
I believe that (b) could be misleading to systems with an LIDS kernel:
in case of a failure, they'll not be warned.
Also, LIDS is a kernel patch, missing (ofcourse) from stock Debian
kernels - add to that that LIDS userland utilities haven't been included
in a Debian release, ever.
Plus, anyone who can patch his kernel with LIDS can surely recompile
lcap with this compile-time option.
Therefore, I believe that (a) is a better option but ofcourse it's the
maintainer's call.
