In /usr/share/request-tracker3.4/lib/RT/Handle.pm in subroutine Connect, the environment variables NLS_LANG and NLS_NCHAR are set when connecting to an Oracle database. These settings do not work in combination with our Oracle 9 installation. If I remove the offending lines from Handle.pm (ie, those variables are not set anymore) then everything works fine. If people do need these environment variables set, I request that it is made configurable instead of hardcoded.
