When opening a new gvim window and the window manager tries to position it at the bottom of the screen, the status bar is partly obscured, either behind the bottom GNOME panel, or off the bottom of the screen if I don't have a bottom panel. I can only see about 2 rows of pixels at the top of the status bar until I move the window. Maximising also brings the status bar properly on screen.
