Thanks for the information. I looked this one up and it actually looks like I have mawk installed myself. Also mawk and gawk is using the "alternatives" system, which means that I have to look this up further. It works because gawk probably have preference, over mawk but it is nothing that prevents the system admin to change that perference, and then it will stop working again.
