This is something I know is problematic. I agree it needs to be
changed. What I need is working LaTex code to enable such combination.

ttf-arphic-uming is good font but it has obnoxious default feature to
force Chinese preference over Japanese one :-) The installation script
put tweaking on fontconfig default.

I know this situation is as obnoxous for Chinese if they see Japanese
preference is chosen over Chinese one. So I understand why
ttf-arphic-uming maintainer did this.

What we need is a glue service package which helps organizing font
preference depending on:
 * locale
 * font size
 * serif/san-serif, Mincho/Gothic, (song, ming)/(hei, gothic)

(OOps, table is broken...)

This choice should be able to be done both as system and as user. Just
like im-config. Then we can live together. Otherwise, we need to
manage fontconfig directly during build time.

Wait, this is true for X but I may be wrong since LaTeX is smart enough
to chose font. It is just annynig for me to install ttf-arphic-uming on
system but usually build is done in chroot. So this is not really
problem.

I need to know how to specify them in LaTeX.

So here comes my *** help *** request and my action plan.

 1. Please create a base LaTeX source using debiandoc2latex command.
 2. Please manually edit it until you get the right result.
 3. Send me both sources as gzip tar archive.
 4. Let me fix debiandoc-sgml.

Thanks

Osamu
