Package: qemu Version: 0.9.1-10lenny1 Severity: normal qemu locks up completely after some hours with heavy network activity and various changing TCP connections in a filesharing-like load situation. The problem manifests itself with the stock debian kernel in qemu (Lenny standard instllation inside qemu) as well as with a 2.6.34.6 from kernel.org inside qemu.
On lockup all network connectivity is frozen the console (curses) freezes and qemu goes to 100% CPU load. This also happens with graphis off in daemon mode. An upgrade to the current upstream version (0.12.5) fixes the issue. Reported to let people know this is a qemu problem. Took me several hours to be sure. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.34.4 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages qemu depends on: ii bochsbios 2.3.7-1 BIOS for the Bochs emulator ii libasound2 1.0.16-2 ALSA library ii libbrlapi0.5 3.10~r3724-1+lenny1 braille display access via BRLTTY ii libc6 2.7-18lenny4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.7+20081213-1 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.13-2 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii openbios-sparc 1.0~alpha2+20080106-2 SPARC Open Firmware ii openhackware 0.4.1-4 OpenFirmware emulator for PowerPC ii proll 18-4 JavaStation PROM 2.x compatible re ii vgabios 0.6b-1 VGA BIOS software for the Bochs an ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-12 compression library - runtime Versions of packages qemu recommends: ii debootstrap 1.0.10lenny1 Bootstrap a basic Debian system ii sharutils 1:4.6.3-1 shar, unshar, uuencode, uudecode ii vde2 2.2.2-3 Virtual Distributed Ethernet Versions of packages qemu suggests: pn samba <none> (no description available) ii sudo 1.6.9p17-3 Provide limited super user privile -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
