tags 308693 + wontfix -- hwclockfirst.sh must run before modules are loaded [1], therefore, any kernel which is foolish enough to have CONFIG_RTC=m will have errors in hwclockfirst.sh, and the accompanying issues found in Bug#50572.
The good news is that hwclock.sh runs shortly after that, and will set the time, providing pre-hwclockfirst.sh behavior.
