Package: plymouth
Version: 0.8.3-6
Severity: normal

Hello,

After installing Plymouth, rebuilding my initramfs and rebooting with the
option “splash”, Plymouth worked correctly, but had a strange side effect on
the console.

The console was in what I would call an “echo” mode, that is:
* it echoes back any typed line, for instance:
herbert login: root ← my typing
root ← echo
Password: p455w02d ← no character hiding
p455w02d ← echo
# reboot ← my typing
reboot ← echo

This may be linked with #593408.
