I thought that since it was in experimental, that was OK.

That's a bit confusing (the end user cannot make the difference). I
still think that's the wrong way to do, as this requires the user to
enter the username/password (which he may not necessarily remember).
Using his web browser is better because the user may already be
authenticated here, or the username/password may already be stored
in the password manager.
