Hi Rick, I tried reproducing this bug, but couldn't manage to : a clean install from the Squeeze installer (netbooting the netinstall image from http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/squeeze/main/installer-powerpc/current/images/powerpc/netboot/ ) did install Debian correctly on a PowerBook6,8.
Furthermore, the yaboot.conf you brought shows no signs of UUID or LABEL used (as in the other bug you encountered #587290 and #580455) and looks correct.
