reassign 590132 libimobiledevice1 thanks On 24.07.2010 02:56, Eric Cooper wrote: > Package: upower > Version: 0.9.4-2 > Severity: wishlist > > I don't own or want an iPhone or iPod Touch. upower does not depend on usbmuxd, it "only" links against libimobiledevice1. It is the libimobiledevice1 package which depends on usbmuxd. afaik, usbmuxd is only started when you actually have such hardware, so what you say above is not entirely true. I've reassigned the bug to libimobiledevice1. Maybe the dependeny on usbmuxd can be made optional, say via a Recommends, but I don't know libimobiledevice1 well enough to judge if that is possible. I don't see anything that can be done on upower's side, besides disabling the support of iPhone/Ipod devices altogether. Then again, gvfs, an integral core infrastructure of GNOME, also depends on libimobiledevice. So disabling it in upower won't help you much. Considering this issue closed from upower's pov.
