Package: fai-server Version: 3.4.2 Severity: normal File: /usr/sbin/fai-cd
I got my fai-* packeges from sid a few days ago. I want to use FAI to do some installs on some systems which have no cdrom drive and cannot PXE boot so I wanted to use fai-cd's -u option to make a bootable USB stick. But it is not working. The resulting USB stick is not bootable. Looking at the relevant blocks of the USB stick, it looks like no bootloader has been installed (blocks are full of zeroes). I did some reading of /usr/sbin/fai-cd and it seems that the second half of mkusb (including the body of find_fai_data) assumes grub version 1 and cannot work with grub version 2. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31.6-rt19-00002-g39a40c2 (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages fai-server depends on: ii debootstrap 1.0.22 Bootstrap a basic Debian system ii fai-client 3.3.5 Fully Automatic Installation clien Versions of packages fai-server recommends: ii dhcp3-server 4.1.1-P1-9 ISC DHCP server (transitional pack pn fai-setup-storage <none> (no description available) ii isc-dhcp-server [dhcp3-ser 4.1.1-P1-9 ISC DHCP server for automatic IP a ii nfs-kernel-server 1:1.2.2-4 support for NFS kernel server ii openbsd-inetd [inet-supers 0.20080125-4 The OpenBSD Internet Superserver ii openssh-client 1:5.3p1-3 secure shell (SSH) client, for sec ii openssh-server 1:5.3p1-3 secure shell (SSH) server, for sec ii syslinux-common 2:4.02+dfsg-1 collection of boot loaders (common ii tftpd-hpa 5.0-15 HPA's tftp server Versions of packages fai-server suggests: ii apt-move 4.2.27-1+b7 Maintain Debian packages in a pack ii aptitude 0.6.3-3.1 terminal-based package manager (te ii debmirror 1:2.4.5 Debian partial mirror script, with ii genisoimage 9:1.1.10-1 Creates ISO-9660 CD-ROM filesystem ii grub 0.97-59 GRand Unified Bootloader (dummy pa ii libproc-daemon-perl 0.03-2 Run Perl program as a daemon proce ii perl-tk 1:804.029-1+b1 Perl module providing the Tk graph -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
