Package: gnome Version: 1:2.30+3 Severity: wishlist Hi,
is it really necessary to have gnome *depend* on software center? Honestly, I find it awefull and not very Debian-like (whatever that means, it's just a feeling to me). I mean, we already have synaptic installed and all this update-notifier and -manager stuff. Furthermore, software-center depends on the bloated app- install-data package. So please, could you move it to Recommends at least? While we are at it, I think that update-manager, software-properties-gtk and software-center do all provide redundant functionality with respect to synaptic. - Fabian -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (501, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
