Well, it is better.

Please downgrade to libavcodec52 from debian unstable/testing. The package you 
have is from debian-multimedia.org and it's known to cause problems like this.
You should have the following version installed.

$ dpkg -l libavcodec52
ii  libavcodec52                  4:0.5.2-5                     ffmpeg codec 
library

I'm pretty sure that once you downgrade you will have no problems at all.
