Hi there,

I just wanted to clarify the situation about the Canon CanoScan LiDE 50
scanner, which is listed as working on this webpage:
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON

Which is the reason I bought this scanner.

I am running an up-to-date Squeeze system and was able to install the libsane
package with only one or two dependencies from Debian Experimental
(1.0.22~git1.0.21-157-g126c70d-1) and from Debian Lenny (1.0.19-23), as well
as, of course, the package from Squeeze (1.0.21-4) that seems to be the same as
the one from Sid for the architectures that I tested this on (AMD64 and i386).

The scanner works fine with the package from Lenny, but not with any later
version. It looks like something broke libsane-compatibility with that scanner.

Thank you,

Malte
