Sorry for overriding Thomas preferred choice, but while trying to figure out a proper title I found out the following: - The problem has been fixed in grub2/grub-pc 1.98+20100720-1, which is in squeeze and sid. Only lenny has an older version. - The problem occurs with mdadm >= 3.1.1-1, which is the versions in squeeze and sid; lenny has a much older version. There is no Debian release which still has a combination of packages causing this error. Hence closing this bug. Best, Michael
