Sure, I just did the work to test it as I was having spurious issues on openocd/libftdi combo, but my tests lead me to a worse situation, getting segfaults on libftd2xx. So I discourage any libftd2xx use, but in case someone wants to test on their system, the patch is available on this bug report.
