Package: postgresql-9.0 Version: 9.0.1-2 Severity: normal The libedit change is really bad:
- Ctrl-W does not behave as usual (kill whole line instead of word), - having an ~/.editrc to rebind keys is useless - libedit is badly (not) documented (only libedit-dev has an editrc man page) - no history search with Ctrl-R, - and, much worse, a long queries get truncated at ~ 10 lines in history (recalling them in the editor with \e works though..) Please re-instate the much better readline library. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.36-1-pyrrhus64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA, lc_ctype=fr...@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages postgresql-9.0 depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcomerr2 1.41.12-2 common error description library ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.8.3+dfsg-2 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii libkrb5-3 1.8.3+dfsg-2 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libldap-2.4-2 2.4.23-6 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam0g 1.1.1-6.1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpq5 9.0.1-2 PostgreSQL C client library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-3 SSL shared libraries ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-1 GNOME XML library ii locales 2.11.2-7 Embedded GNU C Library: National L ii postgresql-client-9.0 9.0.1-2 front-end programs for PostgreSQL ii postgresql-common 111 PostgreSQL database-cluster manage ii ssl-cert 1.0.27 simple debconf wrapper for OpenSSL ii tzdata 2010o-1 time zone and daylight-saving time postgresql-9.0 recommends no packages.
