This is possibly the same bug as is listed in the nouveau bug tracker at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27501
The symptoms in post number one are very similar to mine down. It appears this was fixed in Ubuntu kernel 2.6.32-21.31 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/546393/comments/119 and later modifications in 2.6.35-22.33 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/546393/comments/132 I'm guessing these patches are in the (very) distant future for Debian but during the Squeeze install, there should be a script that detects the affected hardware and reverts to the nv driver or takes other steps to prevent a failed boot. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
