I have seen reports of this before.  Apparently manually doing 'modprobe
forcedeth' from console 2 during the install usually works.  For some
reason the ethernet port on some nvidia chipsets doesn't appear in the
pci listing and then as a result isn't auto detected, but the driver can
find it just fine if asked to load and look for the device.

The daily builds use a newer kernel, which may have a bug fix added to
deal with whatever caused the problem in 2.6.8.
