Hi, I just tried to reproduce the problem and it was enough to set the state of exim4 to 1 in /var/lib/aptitude/pkgstates.
A "aptitude dist-upgrade" will then remove my installed postfix and upgrade to exim4. This is also set in the pkgstates file of Geert. Cheers, Michael -- Linux is not The Answer. Yes is the answer.
