Hi,
A new version of sendxmpp is available.
It is quite probably fixing #559716, as far as I can see (I can't test
it), the patch provided by Kyzer in #559716 is looking pretty much like
latest commit on sendxmpp previous 1.22 version. I'm not familiar with
perl though.
