LDFLAGS=-lcrypt is passed in debian/rules to the build, but I couldn't
find any comment why.
If this is still necessary, LIBS should be used for passing this. It's
not a flag.
According to my SCM it was added in 2001 to allow building of the
courier-authpostgresql package. So we could try to build without that
flag.
