Certainly, you are right. What I want is that an application (e.g. aptitude which already offers many convenience tools) would do this for me... Perhaps using another tool like a script from apt-utils. Aptitude offers manual inspection of changelog, and it probably could do some parsing like apt-listchanges which shows only recent changes.
