Yes, apparently I'd mostly used "s5 update" on FreeBSD, and its mktemp(1) tool is a bit more liberal in what it accepts as an argument to -t :) Fixed in Git - http://gitorious.org/s5/pkg-debian/commit/8cb78d5 I'll see what I can do about a Debian upload soon.
