Do you intend to deal with the removed snort/reverse_order (-o)?
It went away in 2.8.5.2-2, but is still present in lenny (2.7.0-20.4).
I can't find anything about it in postinst.
It was set after snort/snort/disable_promiscuous (-p):
DEBIAN_SNORT_OPTIONS=" -p -o"
I'm not sure if it's possible to query it out of debconf even if there
is no template anymore. The debconf record is still in config.dat on
upgraded systems (at least it is here at my system :)), they're only
removed on purge. I don't know what happens if you query it when it's
not there.
