Package: lxde-common Version: 0.5.0-4 Severity: normal Hi,
Since a while text-mode applications (irssi, mutt, vim, ...) don't produce any beeps anymore. According to the beep(1) manpage this seems to indicate a permissions problem, since 'beep' works, but 'beep `tty`' aborts with an ioctl error. Beeps work fine with openbox-session, xfce4-session, startkde set as x-session-manager. I also tried to downgrade lxde-common and lxsession to the older version available at snapshot.d.o, but it didn't help.
