Hi,

extlinux-update now supports parsing os-prober output for the detection of
other OSes, and even has this feature enabled by default. The extlinux-update
script even fails hard if os-prober could not be found, but the os-prober
package is nowhere amongst the dependencies of the extlinux-package. It has
merely been addedas a Suggests to syslinux (why?).

Please do either (1) make extlinux recommend os-prober , or (2) disable parsing
of os-prober's output by default or (3) make extlinux-update not error out when
os-prober could not be found but print a warning instead.
