As the submitter of cron bug #537073 ("unnecessary dependency on
lockfile-progs") I'd like to counter-suggest the option of using the
/usr/bin/flock in utils-linux; after all, /etc/cron.daily/mlocate
already uses the /usr/bin/ionice command from that package - and it's
Priority: required, while lockfile-progs is Priority: optional.
