thanks for the report. unfortunately i think i'm going to side with
doing the latter for the time being because it's a bit simpler and
could avoid possible breakage in the future if newer versions of
cacti depend on features in newer versions of adodb (upstream ships
adodb as part of their source code, so i'd have no way of knowing
apart from unreproducible bug reports).
anyway, the fix will be included in the next upload, i'll see about
addressing some of these other open bugs too.
