Package: etherboot-qemu
Version: 5.4.4-7
Severity: wishlist

The ROMs in etherboot-qemu package are built with the usual
"boot from network or local" pause which causes unnecessary
boot delays when booting virtual machines, where the choice
(where to boot from) is controlled in the qemu command line.
It'd be nice if etherboot-qemu boot ROMs were built without
this pause, just like upstream qemu boot ROMs are made.

One note however: when enabling this pauseless mode, while
we solve one issue (slow boot), we may encounter another
issue: when using bridged networking for the guest, the
virtual port may not be ready yet (forward_delay in bridge)
when we send DHCP requests, which results in boot failure.
This should be addressed either in the kernel or in the
bridge configuration, separately.

Thanks!
